Haiku + Senryu

Haiku is a seasonal, reverent celebration of a subject (nature or people) trying to make a feeling.
Senryu tends to have a victim and may be humorous or irreverant trying to make a point.

Love story...

1. Muscovy duck (with the pink face) has been alone for a long time in the small Dromana wetlands on Boundary Road.
But a few days ago, I saw a new white duck.
And Muscovy had eyes in just one direction!

Love story unfolds
Timeless feeling of closeness
Feathers together

2. And the love story below has been unfolding for quite some time.
The guy (cockatoo) on the right has a broken wing, and yet he manages to fly.
But he can't get his wing back into its usual place.
It looks quite low in this photo.
However, in the last few months he has had a constant companion.

I am here to groom
I am here to fly with you
Be my love story

I'm not sure why, but recently I've been enamored with birds of all sorts, so your birdie-love haikus really struck a chord with me! Lovin' it!

This is probably not what you intended, but your poems remind me of the time my husband and I caught a pair of ducks mating in a lake...It looked like the male was almost drowning the female. lol

The togetherness of feathers--who can dispute that?!
