Westernport Festival is an annual festival celebrating the community of Hastings on Westernport Bay.
Here is the navy band from nearby HMAS Cerberus in the recent 2013 street parade, a major part of the activities.
Strangers on parade
I may not know their faces
But I love their song

This is an endearing little piece, Gemma! I really like it!
All the Young Strangers
Maybe to love a song is more important than to know a face?
Strangers’ Faces
This is wonderful.
I'm not sure why, but you have me smiling.
Cheers!

I love marching bands...I give them so much credit for dressing up, marching miles, and playing such uplifting tunes....
Beautiful take on strangers.
What joy from strangers.
People around the world connect through music. A shared love of music (or words) means we an never be total strangers methinks.
This gave me such a wonderful lift! I love a parade! And I love your parade haiku with the stranger slipped in!
and not to mention the heat from the sun as they go through the parade. and yet, they're able to bring cheer through their music at the Festival.
I love watching parades, those people in white uniforms looked so beautiful...
Sopping by from WW :)
Same here, there's something about parades that really excites us! It's like bringing out the children in us! Thanks for joining Wednesday Whites, Gemma!
Parades remind me of when I was a little girl back in the Philippines. Everytime we hear the drum playing we would hurry our walk to the side walk and watch the parade. It was fun! Lovely white uniforms. :)
Glad to meet you on the web. Keep writing the haiku :)
