while vines are sleeping
cooling skies and lonely art
exchange their sad sighs
NOTE
Montalto Vineyard, on the Mornington Peninsula near Red Hill, pictured above, has many unusual artworks scattered through the vineyards.
Somehow in the Autumn/Winter season, those artworks seem quite stark - with the leafless vines as a backdrop.

Although the photograph is lovely, the haiku leaves me feeling forlorn. Why is that? :)
Spidery Shadows
The cooling nights of autumn and winter allow the vines to grow stronger. So with next year's growth, the sun along with the hardier vines will yield a wonderful wine. Alas, the gray sky and cold temps are a pice to pay, but a small one...nice vineyard art!
Because the words lonely and sad are in it, MMT. I love it, Gemma.
Sad sighs indeed for the observer.
The loneliness came through. Pic and Haiku go well together.

I love this one!
Makes a lovely picture!! They art work and the grape vines look as if they want to stand in readiness, to play their part at the slightest nod, from a receding winter!!
This is truly creative in every sense and sums up the dormant season so well. I loved it x
the haiku makes me all welled up with various emotions. But I love it.

I like the thought of the art having the ability to exchange sighs! Commiserating about the coming winter perhaps!
I think vineyards are always beautiful even when asleep!
Have a wonderful day!
